The school, in Rayleigh Road, Leigh, was inspected by the education watchdog on December 10 and 11 for the first time since 2018.
Impressively, the school has bucked the national trend by retaining its outstanding rating after a recent study revealed that four out of five schools had dropped from the top grade since 2020.
The report, seen by the Echo, stated: “Pupils thrive at The Eastwood Academy. It is a very happy school.
“The school does an exemplary job of preparing pupils for life in modern Britain.
“Pupils behave very positively here. They treat others with courtesy and kindness.
“If pupils need support to improve their behaviour, or with their well-being, caring staff provide it.
“The school has high expectations of all pupils.
“Staff are rightly proud of their school. However, they do not rest on their laurels.
“Staff reflect on their practice constantly and seek to improve it further.”
The report comes at a pivotal time for The Eastwood Academy and Eastwood Park Academy Trust, which is in the final stages of a comprehensive rebranding effort.
Following the outstanding Ofsted report, trust bosses have confirmed it will now be emerging as the Tenacitas Trust – a name derived from the Latin word for “tenacity”.
Principal David Piercy said: “This achievement belongs to every member of our school community.
“Our pupils and staff embody ‘The Eastwood Way’, demonstrating resilience, care, and an unwavering commitment to high standards every day.
“Their determination and enthusiasm have been the key to our success.
“Collaboration is now at the heart of everything we do.
“Our relationships with other schools across Essex have strengthened our practices and culture, and we are excited to continue these partnerships under the new ethos of Tenacitas Trust.”
At the time of the inspection, there were 1,147 pupils at the school, all aged between 11 and 16.
