A New Southgate man who was part of a large organised drugs gang has been jailed.
Burim Selita, aged 27 and of Palmers Road, was sentenced to five years and seven months’ imprisonment after he had previously pleaded guilty to a count of conspiracy to supply a Class A drug, namely cocaine, at Aylesbury Crown Court.
It followed an investigation by Thames Valley Police into 14 men of western Balkan descent who operated six drugs lines throughout the Milton Keynes area between April 2022 to November 2023.
During two raids in July and November 2023 detectives seized around 2kg of cocaine, various drugs paraphernalia and nearly £60,000 in cash.
Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Natalie Hall said: “The work by our serious and organised crime unit to bring this organised crime group down was significant.
“A substantial policing operation took place to arrest these men who played various roles to supply cocaine on a significant scale.
“The fact that this investigation has led to 60 years’ imprisonment for 14 men is a testament to the officers who worked so hard compiling evidence and seeing justice over a two-year period.
“We will continue to work with our partners and other agencies to bring to justice such groups, who seek only to make money from the production and distribution of illegal drugs, which bring misery and violence to others.”
