Darlington Market: Masala Magic opens new street food spot

Masala Magic has launched a new stall within the popular town centre market, serving up “authentic and homemade” Indian cuisine from the former &Gravy spot.

The new stand opened for the first time on Thursday (January 9).

Loaded naan breads are one of the top menu items, with customers able to customise the tasty homemade delicacy with a main topping of their choice.

The four mains include chicken dopiaza, keema peas (minced lamb), Paneer tikka masala, and saag aloo (spinach and potato) – with the total cost for the loaded naans coming in at £10.50.

Each of these mains can also be purchased on its own for £8.50, with a choice of rice or skin-on fries.

Also on the menu are onion bhaji naan wraps, which are priced at £7.50 and include kachumber salad, sauce, and fresh Corriander.

You can also make the most of a variety of small sides and mini magic meals for children, which include smaller main meals and are priced at £5.

This marks the latest addition to the market, following the opening of the Natural Health Bar, by television chef Matei Baran, in October.

The market will soon welcome a new artisan bakery school in the former Millets unit, as well as a new fish and chip vendor.

Other vendors currently at the market include Harry’s Burger Joint, Fusion Mexicana, Haus de Bratwurste, and more.
