Heel & Toe Children’s Charity is appealing for support to keep their hydrotherapy pool open, a resource they describe as a ‘lifeline’ for families in the North East.
The charity, which has been operating since 2008, has supported hundreds of children each year, but is now facing financial difficulties.
As a result, they have been forced to make staff redundancies to continue delivering their vital services. The hydrotherapy pool in Perkinsville (Image: Heel & Toe)
Heel & Toe needs to raise £60,000 to ensure the future of their hydrotherapy pool at their Perkinsville centre in County Durham.
This amount will cover the operation costs and help meet the increasing demand.
Amanda Tweedy, deputy CEO of Heel & Toe, said: “Our hydrotherapy programme is a lifeline for many children with complex medical needs.
“It allows them to move freely, gain confidence, and experience joy in a way that is unparalleled.
“We have seen first-hand the transformative power of hydrotherapy, and we are committed to ensuring that this essential service continues for years to come.
“The hydrotherapy pool has proved essential for many families in the community, delivering vital care and support for children with physical disabilities and complex needs.
