Ms Mills said: “I knew Slimming World worked, I’ve been a member before, but life (having three children) had got in the way.
“I was struggling alone and not getting anywhere.
“I was tired of eating unhealthy and unappetising foods and I was genuinely worried about my health.
“I was only 32 and having to have my blood pressure checked every week.
“With three young children, this wasn’t the life I wanted.

“On the 5th of January, I thought, go back to what you know works and I did, walking into my local group in Ushaw Moor.
“I could say from that morning the rest is history, but actually for me, the rest is my future.”
Ms Mills said she had tried many other ways to lose weight, from clean eating to calorie counting, and from cabbage soup to baby food.
She said: “You name it I’ve tried it, but Slimming World is the only way I’ve ever found that really supported me to lose weight and live my life.

“It’s the only real sustainable plan in my opinion and that’s because of the support, the food plan and of course the results.”
Ms Mills lost nine and a half pounds in her first week and said she loves the food she gets to eat while losing weight.
She said: “I love food. I love that it’s real food that you can buy in any supermarket.
“Whether you’re on a budget and have to watch the pennies or whether you have more to spend on your food shopping you can still follow the plan.
“I love that I can feed myself and all of my children easily whilst achieving my own personal goals.
“I have a very diverse household when it comes to food I have one child with sensory eating challenges, another with dairy and soya allergies and a fussy pre-teen.
“I can negotiate all of that on this plan and we now regularly enjoy eating the same meals as each other which is priceless.”
Ms Mills said her mindset has changed completely.
She said: “Before I was surviving on toast, sandwiches, biscuits, takeaways or high-fat throw-into-the-oven type foods.
“Anything that was convenient or comforting.
“I never really ate a set breakfast or lunch which would then lead to lots of bad snacking later on.
“Now I look forward to a delicious and healthy breakfast every day and eat to fuel my body rather than my mood.”
Ms Mills said she can now do the school runs in record time without having to ask her children to wait up for her whilst she takes a break for breath.
She said: “Before losing weight I was having my blood pressure monitored weekly by my GP because it was scarily high for someone of my age.
“I now no longer need any monitoring.
“I know the changes I’ve made will have a massive impact on the health of all three of my children as they grow up which is so important to me, and I know they have the very best version of their mummy now.”
