Corn Exchange Newbury to host innovative circus performances

On Tuesday, February 25, Gandini Juggling will present their new show, Heka.

The performance combines magic and juggling, creating an interactive experience where objects seem to materialise, vanish, levitate and transform.

Founded in 1992 by renowned jugglers Sean Gandini and Kati Ylä-Hokkala, the company has performed in 50 countries, consistently pushing the boundaries of juggling as an art form.

In September 2024, Gandini Juggling held a residency at 101 Outdoor Arts in Greenham Business Park, developing an outdoor version of Heka.

This retelling blends circus physicality with Hardy’s storytelling, depicting the vast landscapes and emotional depth of Hardy’s Wessex.

The strength and grace of the circus performers breathe new life into the character, portraying her as the heroic figure Hardy always intended.

Ockham’s Razor, established in 2004 by Circomedia graduates, creates performances grounded in relatable emotions and conflicts, making their narratives accessible and moving.

Tickets for both performances are available online at cornexchangenew.com, by phone at 01635 522733, or in person at the Corn Exchange Newbury Box Office.
