SIX-WEEK puppy courses are held at Colden Common Community Centre on Monday evenings from 6.00pm to 6.45pm. Run by Positive Training For Canines, Puppy Training Packages help owners with the basics they need to look after and raise their puppies. Classes are said to be small, fun and relaxed. The performances will take place on Friday 10, Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 January and the following weekend on Friday 17, Saturday 18 and Sunday 19. Performances begin at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10. On Saturdays, there will be performances at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets are £12 for those shows. On Sundays, the performances will be at 2.30pm and tickets will cost £12. WINCHESTER City Council is supporting a Creative Industries Growth Programme for businesses in and around the city. There will be a series of free, interactive workshops and events for microbusinesses, freelancers, and SMEs in Winchester’s creative industries. They said: “Whether you’re in film, design, publishing, or arts and crafts, there’s something for everyone.” The programme is run by Evolved and is funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The launch event is on Thursday, January 9  and runs from 6.00 to 8.0pm at The Railway Inn. GETTING ready for Burns Night? It has not even been Christmas, or New Year, yet but The Bridge in Shawford will be releasing its Burns Night menu in January. The “carefully” curated four-course menu is steeped in the history, life and poetry of Robert Burns. It will feature traditional Scottish dishes, including Cullen Skink, Haggis Neeps and Tatties and Cranachan Sundae. There will also be a selection of the pub’s favourite Scottish whiskies.
