A family business has made the ‘emotional decision’ to shut a chocolate shop in a Suffolk town after 17 years.
Chocolatiers Marimba will be closing its store in Borehamgate Precinct, Sudbury, on March 8.
The company, which also has a shop in Bury St Edmunds, specialises in flaked hot chocolate and is served in more than 700 cafés across the country.

Director David Wright said: “Closing the Sudbury cocoa house has been an emotional decision for our family business – my wife Jackie and son Brad started our business from scratch when they opened the doors there 17 years ago.
“Since then we have been able to build a business that provides hot chocolate to over 700 independent cafés all over the country.
“Sudbury has been a hugely important part of our lives, but with all the challenges of running a small business these days, and in particular the huge recent and forthcoming increases in costs, sometimes it is necessary to make very difficult decisions.”

“We would like to thank all of our customers and staff in Sudbury over the years, but we very much hope that you will not be strangers to us.”
Marimba’s store in Buttermarket, Bury St Edmunds, remains open as normal and all of the company’s products are available on their website.
Marimba Hot Chocolate Melts will continue to be served at the Strawberry Teapot in Friar Street, Sudbury.
