AS we have just published a story on the Harlow Business Forum, we thought we would try and catch up with a few Harlow businesses over the next few weeks.
First up, Emma Robson of Stort Valley Spirits
Emma said: ‘2024 was a record year for us and we grew our business by approximately 40% . We hope to continue to expand in 2025, working more with local businesses not just on their seasonal gifting but on areas such as on-boarding and staff and client appreciation, something that we believe is key for companies.
“We plan to develop new ties within the community and continue our longstanding relationships with charities such as St Clare Hospice and Accuro, who we have worked closely with on the Harlow Food & Drink Festival which is now entering its fourth year.
“Our main concerns for 2025 are the effect of recent legislation changes on our supply chain. Our suppliers are all small businesses, with margins already squeezed by increasing costs of materials.
“The upcoming increases in employment costs are going to be very challenging for them which in turn will either result in an increase in our prices where they have to pass on their additional costs, or may even force them out of business, which for us could mean a huge blow to our incredible product range.
