A police cordon set up in Bury St Edmunds town centre following reports of suspicious packages has been lifted.
Officers were called at 10.04am today to reports suspicious packages had been found by staff at a building in St Andrew’s Street North.
A bomb squad was called, buildings and residential properties were evacuated and the road sealed off.
A police spokesperson said the suspicious packages were training aids associated with the courts at Triton House with no risk to the public.
The calls to the emergency services were made in good faith, they said.
Triton House is home to the county court, family court and Bury St Edmunds Regional Divorce Centre.

The bus station was closed and a 100m cordon was put in place.
Bury St Edmunds Jobcentre Plus at St Andrews House, next to Triton House, was among those evacuated as well as businesses including Adie’s Barber Shop and Bury Bakery and Sandwich Bar.
A police spokesperson said the police cordon had been lifted and all roads reopened.
