A local Community Hub is raising a grass to salute a donation from a distillery in the area.
The volunteer-run Buckie Community Hub, based on the town’s East Church Street, were saying “cheers” after the team from Inchgower distillery handed over a cheque for £120 recently.

One of those delighted with the timely boost was Gordon McDonald, the chairman of the Hub’s parent body Buckie Area Forum (BAF).
He said: “We’re very grateful for the donation from the Inchgower team, it was a very nice Christmas present for the Hub.
“It’s great that the staff chose us as the charity they wish to support from the proceeds of their raffle.
“Inchgower haven’t ring-fenced the money for anything specific, it’ll go towards the general running of the Hub, which is what we really need.”
The Hub’s ever expanding role helping people in need – ranging from food parcels and vouchers through to signposting people to various agencies for specialist help and assistance – has been in even greater demand during the recent cold weather.
Mr McDonald continued: “We’re into the real winter here in Buckie and this is when things like the actions taken by the UK government on the winter fuel allowance kicks home.
“Our worry just now is about hypothermia and all of the other impacts that it’ll have on the elderly, in particular.”
Andrew Ewen, from Inchgower distillery, said he and his colleagues were delighted to be able to support the Hub.
He continued: “With Inchgower being Buckie’s local distillery, we wanted to support those in need at Christmas as we know it is a time of the year that can be very hard for some people.
“Our manager Gary Armour organised a small raffle to raise the funds and then we held discussions regarding which charity to donate to.
“The Buckie Hub offers excellent support and is entirely reliant on donations, so our team was eager to back them. We are delighted that this will help locally and hopefully we can do more in the future.”
