The awards are split into two categories as it recognises the 50 best chippy takeaways and 10 best fish and chip restaurants.
On its website, the awards says it celebrates “the incredible achievements of fish and chip shops nationwide.”
The awards are based on months of research including takeaways, restaurants and mobile units being “secretly assessed by mystery diners on a range of aspects such as food quality, premises cleanliness, staff expertise, value for money, ease of ordering, and social media presence.”
The website added: “Only the operators with the highest scores earn an award. The pass mark this year for both the takeaway and restaurant categories was 96% and above, although several were successful in gaining the full 100%.”
Bredon Village Fish and Chip Shop in Bredon was named one of the 50 best fish and chip shop takeaways and it will receive a winner’s plaque to display.
You can see the full list of takeaway and restaurant winners via the Fry Magazine website.
