Best performing primary schools in Worcestershire revealed

Test scores are not the be-all and end-all of primary education, but they do still have an effect on a child’s future.

Across Worcestershire, 57 per cent of pupils are meeting the expected standard, lower than the average of 61 per cent in England.

Worcestershire pupils were also recording as below average when it came to achieving at a higher standard with six per cent – below the national performance of eight per cent.

Here are the top 10 schools in Worcestershire:

10. Clent Parochial Primary School, Clent, near Stourbridge

79 per cent of Clent Primary pupils were met the expected standard in 2024, however, no students were found to have been achieving at a high standard.

9. St Wulstan’s Catholic Primary School, Stourport-on-Severn

79 per cent of St Wulston’s pupils met the expected level, and 17 per cent achieved at a higher level than expected.

8. Tenbury CofE Primary School, Tenbury Wells

80 per cent of Tenbury pupils have reached the standard expected  with seven per cent reaching a high standard.

7. Claines CofE Primary School, Worcester

80 per cent of Claines pupils have also met the expected standard.

27 per cent of pupils are achieving at a high standard, more than anywhere else in the county.

6. Sutton Park Primary School, Kidderminster

The Kidderminster based primary has 83 per cent of students achieving at the expected standard and seven per cent at a higher standard.

5. Beaconside Primary and Nursery School, Rubery

Beaconside Primary, on the border with the city of Birmingham, had the fifth best performance in the county, with 86 per cent of students performing at the expected level and none achieving at a high level.

4. Holy Redeemer Catholic Primary School, Pershore

The Holy Redeemer Catholic Primary had 86 per cent of pupils reaching the expected standard and five per cent exceeding this to reach a high standard.

3. Malvern Wyche CofE Primary School, Malvern

86 per cent of pupils at Malvern Wyche were reaching the expected standard and 14 per cent achieved a high standard.

2. Hanley Swan St Gabriel’s with St Mary’s CofE Primary School, Hanley Swan

88 per cent of pupils at Hanley Castle Primary met the expected standard, but none were recorded to be achieving at a high standard.

1. Inkberrow Primary School, Inkberrow

Inkberrow Primary also had 88 per cent of pupils meeting the expected standard, with 21 per cent achieving at a high standard.
