Deciding to close Beamish Museum, the popular tourist spot posted on social media: “Due to icy conditions in our car park, we will be closed tomorrow (Friday 10th January).
“If you were due to come to our Home Educators’ Day, we will be sending you an email very soon.
“We thank you for your support and understanding.”
This closure comes as snow and ice continue to hit the North East, with temperatures reaching minus three degrees at points on Thursday evening and Friday morning.
Further cold weather is expected to arrive in the region over the next 48 hours.
