This week, the new series of ‘Something Special’ has aired, featuring Mr Tumble.
It has now been revealed that parts of the show were filmed at Walton Hall and Gardens.
The BAFTA award winning show launched back in 2003, focusing on introducing children to Makaton, an alternative communication programme using signs, symbols and speech to enable people to communicate.
It was announced last week week that the show has introduced additional presenters for series 14, including George Webster, Ben Cajee and Maddie Moate, who also appeared at Walton Hall and Gardens last year for the family friendly festival, Gloworm.
In today’s episode, Tuesday, you can spot well-known Walton landmarks, such as the bandstand and pergola, as well as the children’s playground and even inside Walton Hall itself.
Cllr Tony Higgins, cabinet member for leisure and community, said: “I’m delighted to share the news that Mr Tumble and his brilliant team from the BBC spent several weeks filming at Walton Hall and Gardens last summer.
“This morning’s episode ‘Nature Gathering’ was filmed across the Walton estate featuring both Mr Tumble and Maddy Moate.
“Make sure you keep watching the new series of ‘Something Special’ and you may see more of Walton very soon!”
Something Special airs every weekday at 9.45am on CBeebies, or you can watch this week’s episodes now on BBC iPlayer.
