BBC viewers beg bosses to renew brilliant show for new series

Smoggie Queens, which recently aired on the public broadcaster, received praise from hundreds of fans on social media with many calling for it to be greenlit for a new season.

The programme, which is filmed and set in Middlesbrough, tells the story of a group of mostly queer characters, including Volatile Dickie (Phil Dunning), drag queen Mam (Mark Benton), Lucinda (Alexandra Mardell), Sal (Patsy Lowe) and newcomer Stewart (Elijah Young).

The beloved show is said to be unlike anything else on the BBC and features a number of big names like RuPaul’s Drag Race star Michelle Visage and Charlotte Riley from Peaky Blinders.
