In a plea made on Wednesday, January 8, the club said that it’s always prided itself on being ‘100 per cent fan-owned and ‘not-for-profit’ but that a strain on finances means it is struggling for funding.
The team said the strain was due to increased costs with facility hire and equipment, Academy investment not covered by anticipated frees, less commercial uptake and delays with the Clubhouse and associated funding which ‘hampered continued growth’.

To support the initiative, which it has called ‘A Rallying Call to Our Fans’, the team has started a crowdfunding page encouraging donations from fans with a target of £2000.
The Crowdfunder, which has already raised £690 or 34 per cent of its goal, will ‘help the club running’ through direct donations.
In addition to the fundraiser, the club is urging residents to ‘fill the terraces’ and bring friends or family to fixtures, as well as enjoying a drink in the clubhouse before or after the game and during the week.
Residents can also volunteer at matches, either as stewards, gate staff, programme editors, or selling matchday competition tickets.

A spokesperson for the club added: “Basingstoke Town Community FC isn’t just a football club—it’s a community, a shared passion, and a symbol of what we can achieve together.
“Every contribution you make, whether it’s donating, volunteering, attending matches, or encouraging others to join, strengthens the foundation of our club.”
The spokesperson added that the club will host a number of fundraisers over the next few months to support the team.
They concluded: “With your help, we can tackle these challenges head-on and keep building something special at Basingstoke Town Community FC.”
“Together, we’re stronger. Thank you for your incredible support—both on and off the pitch.
