Eight-year-old Chloe Gausden, from Cranbourne, Basingstoke decided to have her long locks cut to raise funds for The Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.
Chloe, a pupil at St John’s Primary School, in Basingstoke, smashed her fundraising goal of £700, raising an incredible £931 to date, which will be used to transform her hair into a wig for a child.

Chloe had 12 inches of her hair cut (Image: Sarah Gausden) More than 50 friends and family supported her efforts and donated to the charity.
Chloe said: “I wanted to donate my hair to help people that have cancer or have lost their hair for other reasons and bring some happiness to someone else’s life.
“I also wanted to raise enough money to make a wig for someone which costs £700 and so far I’ve raised £931. I am so grateful for everyone who has helped me to help someone else.”

The Little Princess Trust relies solely on the generosity of its supporters who help the charity give hair and hope to so many children and young people with cancer each year.
