Barrett Homes report reveals £86 million contribution to UK economy

Barratt Homes West Midlands, which builds homes in Shropshire, Staffordshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, and the West Midlands, has released a report highlighting its social and economic contributions over the past financial year.

The housebuilder constructed 587 homes in the region between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2024.

The company said it also supported 1,204 jobs directly and through its contractors and suppliers, and employed 11 new graduates, trainees, and apprentices.

It added that it has supported 344 subcontractor companies and 376 supplier companies.

The company also provided 165 new school places and created 16 hectares of green space for residents and the public to use.

It contributed £6 million locally, including its Community Infrastructure Levy and S106 contributions.

The company spent £29 million on physical works with the aim of benefiting local communities, including highway and environmental improvements and community facilities.

The housebuilder also donated £131,900 to charities.
