Ayrshire councils to receive more than £1 billion in funding

East Ayrshire, North Ayrshire, and South Ayrshire councils will benefit from this financial boost, subject to the passing of the 2025-26 Scottish Budget.

This includes £989.1 million from the Local Government Settlement and an additional £13 million earmarked for school buildings across Ayrshire.

Shona Robison, finance secretary, said: “This ambitious Budget delivers funding for communities the length and breadth of Scotland – from building new schools and hospitals and improving recycling facilities, to investing in cultural organisations and supporting local authorities.

“This includes more than £1 billion for Ayrshire, to deliver school buildings and ensure the local authorities can provide the services people rely on.

“For all this, we need the Scottish Government’s draft Budget to be passed, enabling us to renew our public services and make the most of our country’s many opportunities.

“That is why I am urging Parliament to work together to pass the Budget.”

MSPs are due to have their say on the budget next month, with a final vote provisionally scheduled for February 25.
