The competition, organised by Worcestershire County Council’s libraries and public health teams in collaboration with Severn Arts, is seeking young writers aged 10 to 18.
Young people living or studying in the county can enter by submitting a poem on the theme of ‘courage’.
Submissions will be judged across three age groups: school years six to eight, years nine to 11, and years 12 to 13.
Finalists from each category will perform live at The Hive in Worcester, where a winner will be selected from each group.
One of these winners will earn the title of Worcestershire’s Young Poet Laureate 2025.
Iona Campbell, last year’s winner, said: “The competition is an amazing journey.
“The themes spark originality, and being part of it connects you to a wider community of poets.”
Councillor Karen May, cabinet member for communities at the council, said: “The experiences gained here can be truly transformative, inspiring personal growth and opening doors to future opportunities.”
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday, March 28.
The final competition will take place at The Hive on Sunday, April 27.
