Applications open for Worcester Music Festival’s chosen charity

The festival, which will take place from September 12 to 14, will raise funds and awareness for the selected charity throughout the event.

Charities have until Saturday, February 1, to submit their applications.

The 2024 festival supported the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Motor Neurone Disease Association, raising a record-breaking £5,556.33.

Festival director, Ant Robbins, said: “We had an amazing festival in 2024, raising a record-breaking amount of money over the weekend.

“The Herefordshire and Worcestershire MND Association plays a crucial role in supporting individuals living with motor neurone disease in our community through support groups, grants, and other vital initiatives.

“Thanks to the generosity of festival-goers in 2024, the charity has been able to launch a new support group, extending their reach and offering assistance to even more local people affected by MND.”

Em Branson, marketing director, said: “As we prepare for the 2025 Worcester Music Festival, we’re on the lookout for a cause that truly makes a difference to our community.

“Charities, this is your moment.

“We’re dedicated to supporting those in the local area and invite all Worcestershire-based charitable organisations to apply.

“Your cause could be the one we champion this year.”

Charities interested in applying can fill out the festival’s application form, providing details on their work, who they help, and any specific projects requiring support.

In past years, the festival has supported charities including Worcester Community Trust, Worcester Foodbank, and The Myriad Centre.

The festival relies on public contributions to raise funds for the chosen cause.

Charity donation tins are placed across the event’s 20 venues, and a creative team in costumes collect donations from festival-goers.

Launched in 2008, the festival has grown from a small event into a weekend-long celebration that supports both the music scene and the wider community.

It provides a platform for artists to perform while also raising money for good causes.

The event now features more than 250 artists in 20 venues across the city.
