Performers from across Suffolk and East Anglia wishing to take part in a popular Ipswich music event may soon have the chance to play in front of thousands of people.
Applications are now open for the 35th Ipswich Music Day, also known as Music in the Park, set to take place in Christchurch Park on July 6.
Organised by Ipswich Borough Council, the day’s events will feature six music stages playing music of all types, alongside fairground rides, activities, a market and food vendors.

Cllr Neil MacDonald, the borough council’s leader, said the event was a good chance for up-and-coming artists to show off their talents.
He said: “Ipswich Music Day is one of my favourite days of the entire year. It’s the highlight of the events calendar for the council, as well as our co-sponsors and everyone who makes Christchurch Park come alive with the sound of music, fun, and entertainment.
“Last year we received applications from over 300 artists, with 45 being successful and taking to the stages to perform live to audiences throughout the day.
“In 2025, we hope to attract even more performers and once again bring an array of different musical genres to delight the crowds.
“Ipswich Music Day is a brilliant celebration of entertainment, culture and local talent, so all aspiring musicians who want to be part of it should apply now.”
Applications can be made using this link.
Anyone wishing to take part has until March 30 to sign up.
