Appletree Grange Care Home in Birtley, run by Barchester Healthcare, will open the café every month for people to meet and share experiences.
The initiative is aimed at helping those who care for people with dementia, or suspect a loved one may have the condition.
The café will provide information on coping strategies, getting a diagnosis, available support, and offer advice from individuals in similar situations.
Attendees can unwind with a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake.
The café will be open on the last Friday of each month at 10am.
General manager, Ben Patterson, said: “We want to help and support relatives, friends, and members of our local community who have loved ones who are living with dementia.
“The café will be a great way to relax, make friends, and find out information about dementia from our specially trained staff.
“We are inviting everyone to come along and have a coffee and chat to others who have friends and family members living with dementia or who are concerned about a loved one.”
