The safe space will be open from 9pm until 8am every day.
There will be fires on and warm food available for anybody who needs it. Support staff will be on hand if anyone wants to talk.
Durham County Council and County Durham Community Care are working with the Angel Trust on the project.
Here is a video of the new warm space at the Angel Trust:
An Angel Trust spokesperson said: “We’re getting ready for a cold night and a large drop in temperatures, the fire’s on and the broth is getting warm at the Safe Night Hub.
“We will be open from 9pm until 8am the following day during this dangerously cold weather.
