Aldi announce opening date for new Holbeach store

A long-awaited new supermarket will be welcoming its first customers later this month.

Aldi has announced that its new store in Holbeach, will be opening on Thursday, January 30, at 8am.

The budget has been constructing the new supermarket on the site of a former South Holland District Council depot site in Fleet Street.

Ian Brown has been appointed the store manager and is now accepting applications for the 32 jobs which have been created as a result of the development.

He said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Holbeach. It’s set to be a special day and having Olympic hero Morgan Bolding join us will make it a morning to remember.”

The new Aldi store is also calling on local charities and food banks in Holbeach to register with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that links businesses to charitable organisations in the local community.

Local charities that register will be able to collect surplus food and perishable products, such as fruit, vegetables and baked goods, seven days a week. Any charities in the area that would like to partner up with the new Aldi store should email aldi@neighbourly.com.

The planning application for the store had been granted by South Holland District Council’s planning committee in March 2023.
