A96 roadworks set to take place near Colpy

Amey will undertake overnight surfacing improvements on the A96 near Colpy from Thursday, January 16 to Friday, January 31.

The £570,000 project, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will deliver improvements on more than 1200 metres of the A96 trunk road.

The roadworks will take place near Colpy.

The essential maintenance will take place between Devil’s Folly and south of Colpy.

An Amey spokesperson said: “To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under temporary traffic lights between 7.30pm and 6.30am each night on Thursday, January 16 and Friday, January 17.

“There will then be overnight convoy working between 7.30pm and 6.30am each night between Tuesday, January 21 and Thursday, January 30.

“Work is scheduled to be completed by 6.30am on Friday, January 31.

“Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.”
