A174 will be closed every night next week for essential work

The works will involve essential lining refreshment and the replacement of cat’s eyes.

Motorists will have to follow a diversion if they are travelling through the area any time after 8pm from January 13 until January 17.

A Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council spokesperson said: “The A174 will be closed to westbound traffic from Greystones Roundabout – as shown in the first picture below – from Monday, January 13, for five nights from 8pm to 6am weekdays, to allow essential lining refresh works and the replacement of cat’s eyes.

“Eastbound traffic will not be affected.

“The closures have been planned to take place overnight, when traffic flows are lower, in order to keep disruption to drivers to a minimum.”
