North Sea industry makes economic sense
Whatever your opinion Of Donald Trump, he was right when he said the UK government was making a big mistake by not opening up the North Sea to oil companies, but instead concentrating on expanding wind mills.
This policy has seen oil and gas firms exit the North Sea that experts have predicted will cost thousands of UK jobs, reduce the tax income by potentially billions and put the country’s energy security at risk.
The UK is making a very big mistake in this misguided policy.
The truth is that if Ed Milliband backed the North Sea, Labour would not need to take the winter fuel allowance off pensioners, but they are blinded by their obsession with net zero policy which is putting political mantra before the welfare of the people.
They seem to be bereft of all rational thinking. No other major economy is shutting down its domestic oil and gas production at this time with the uncertainty of reliance on foreign imports.

‘Temporary’ 20mph limits across the Highlands could become permanent.
20mph limits ‘good plan’ or a ‘waste of time’?
Moves to make 20mph limits in Highland communities permanent after they were introduced as part of a pilot project continue to draw comment from readers.
“20 mph is a good and safe plan as after having a few accidents in my younger years – especially one where i was going to fast and could not stop in time – I now realise, especially in built-up areas, that 30 is too fast if someone fell or walked out in front of you. Experience is the best teacher.” – Hector Campbell
“Highland Council are consulting but will they actually take any notice whatsoever of any response that does not agree with their agenda? The Highland Council has a track record of ignoring public opinion.” – David M Edes
“A complete waste of time and money as it cannot be policed so no one will comply.” – Angela King
