Statistics were tallied up following a Freedom of Information request to watchdog body the Scottish Road Works Commissioner detailing every project which commenced in South Ayrshire from the beginning of the year up to December 2 – some 336 days.
During that time, a total of 351 schemes were carried out in Girvan, with varying impacts for road users.
While some works saw areas simply coned off for a day, others led to complete road closures or the dreaded temporary traffic lights.
In Girvan, 351 roadworks projects have been carried out in the year to date. This included 16 full road closure schemes.
These resulted in 203 days of road closures in the town.
More than 120 of those days came from one scheme in Girvan near Church Square.
These were mostly carried out by Transport Scotland on the A77, with other works by Scottish Water, South Ayrshire Council, Network Rail and others.
Some 144 temporary traffic light schemes have been in place so far this year, amounting to a staggering 447 days of disruption of motorists.
The longest of these was 38 days, with Henrietta Street counting for more than 10 of the schemes.
No lane closures were noted for the town as part of the Freedom of Information request.
