£1,000 raised for dog rehoming charity

A DAWLISH hair salon owner has raised more than £1,000 for an animal rehoming charity.

Chrissy Marks of Signature Hair and Beauty raised £1,281 for Saving Pound Dogs Cyprus (SPDC)

An official fundraising ambassador for the charity, Chrissy’s annual December fundraising push for SPDC concluded on Christmas Eve at the town’s Lansdowne pub, where landlord Andy Barton donated £100 to her campaign.

Throughout December, Chrissy raised money from selling wares at Christmas markets, as well as donations made by her customers.

Chrissy said that SPDC were ‘very grateful’ for her contribution.

‘I would like to mention fellow trader Tony Welch, who donated many boxes of doggie themed clocks for me to sell for the charity – a big thank you!’ Chrissy said.

And though her campaign is over, patrons to Chrissy’s salon can, if they so wish, still donate to SPDC through her as the Dawlish businesswoman’s wider ‘Pound for a Hound’ campaign runs year round.
